Here is John Nixon in the 1800 census... well, actually here are three John Nixon's in the 1800 census. Apparently the town population was small enough that they took the time to alphabetize the census. That's kind of interesting. I don't know who the other two John Nixons are, but I'm pretty sure the first one is ours. Judging from his quoted age in the other censuses, I figure he should be 20-25 years old here. FamilySearch says he should be 21. That means he has to be the first of the three. Its interesting that the other two don't show up in the latter censuses. One is pretty old and may have died, but the other is only 25-45. Oh well.
It's also interesting that they do have a son already. Maybe the birthdate given on Edward's obituary isn't wrong after all.
