I found Balford Doherty twice in the 1930 census. Rachel has now died and Balford is shown living with two of his daughters. In the first, he is with Emma (now Chandler). In the second, he is with Sarah, The first is here:

I am the grandson of Sarah and Eddy Martin. I have just started to get my feet wet in family history research and decided to keep my notes in a blog format.

A note about the Scribd boxes
Scribd is a very cool site and the ipaper boxes are great for quickly looking at posted documents, but the resolution isn't the greatest. It's just barely good enough to be legible. If, however, you click on the "More" tab and download the file you get a much better copy.
